Individual and Group Counseling

INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT is available to all students at Spoede Elementary at the request of teachers, parents, or students.  As an additional school resource, I hope to help students reach their personal best.  I feel fortunate to be able to spend time listening to students while providing a safe setting to help them work through problems or tough days.

Possible reasons to meet with me:

friendship problems

making good decisions

anger management

good news

being teased or bullied

making new friends

change or loss

problem solving

sharing feelings

schoolwork challenges

self - esteem 

changing family or transitions

worried, stress, or sad

GROUP GUIDANCE provides a supportive environment for students experiencing commonly shared concerns such as divorce, anger, friendship, social skills, grief etc.    Small groups give students the opportunity to share ideas and support one another.  Students can see they are not the only ones feeling a certain way or experiencing a similar situation.  Small groups are based on the needs of our students.  They typically run 4-6 weeks and usually meet once a week.
